55TH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL OF INDIA (IFFI)

Shaping Global Cinema Narratives – Editor, International Films Category

Publications Editor: International Films
Global Cinema
Since its inception in 1952, the International Film Festival of India (IFFI)—organised by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India—has been a prestigious platform celebrating outstanding cinema from across the globe.
IFFI’s International Cinema section presents a curated selection of culturally and aesthetically significant films, handpicked by eminent voices from the global film community.
As Editor for the International Films Category of the 55th IFFI Catalogue, we had the opportunity to shape how these international films were represented to audiences, the press, and industry professionals. Building on our prior experience with film journals, exposure to world cinema, and editing catalogues for other film festivals, we brought editorial depth and coherence to this important cultural document.
Our role involved understanding the curatorial vision behind the selection—exploring genres, countries, and themes shaping the programming—while developing a consistent editorial tone aligned with IFFI’s identity. We framed the films within broader cultural, political, and artistic conversations to deepen audience engagement, ensuring the inclusion of director statements, curatorial notes, and thematic essays that offered personal insights and critical context.
