Started in 1990, Mumbai International Film Festival for Documentary, Short Fiction and Animation, popularly known as MIFF, is one of the oldest and largest film festivals for non-feature films in South Asia.
Organized by the Films Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India, this international event has grown in scope and scale and is attended by cineastes from around the globe.
With roots in our journey with the Films Division, we were delighted to come on board as the Festival Catalogue Editor for this edition of MIFF. The role required an understanding of film literature and the ability to manage complex information. We worked closely with organizers, filmmakers, and other stakeholders to craft thematic framing, deliver engaging film descriptions, artist profiles, and other informative content with accuracy and consistency in fact-checking and proofreading. The scope also involved working closely with designers and the production team to ensure the catalogue’s visual and editorial coherence. Collaborating with various departments such as marketing, programming was critical to ensure timely delivery of the catalogue for print and digital publication.
To be part of MIFF was to stand at the crossroads of society and cinema, where every frame holds truth and every word carries weight. More than an editorial role—it was a journey into the heart of voices that seek to move, awaken, and transform.

We are grateful to have lent our words to the tapestry of this festival, where stories find their wings and continue to soar beyond the page.
